Emotional Availability Reflection
How much of your inner life makes it into the room.
Emotional availability is the degree to which your inner life is reachable by the people close to you — whether feelings get said, whether care can land, and whether you stay present when a conversation gets difficult.
It is not the same as caring. Many highly available-seeming people are excellent at attending to others and quietly unreachable themselves. This reflection asks about that direction specifically: what comes out, and what gets let in.
Reduced availability is usually protective in origin. It tends to have been useful once, which is exactly why it is worth understanding rather than judging.
What this reflection looks at
- Sharing feelings and being known
- Receiving care, help, and comfort
- Presence during difficult conversations
- Withdrawal and self-sufficiency
What it is not
This is a reflection on one relational pattern, not a judgement of your capacity for love or an assessment of any relationship.
What you get at the end
A short reflection written back to you in everyday language, a couple of gentle next steps, and — if you want them — a way to find a therapist who focuses on emotional availability and intimacy. You can have your result emailed to you, or skip that entirely.
